You can't just check a book on an alien artifact, we don't even know anything about it. There's millions of strange, cube-shaped objects, and we don't have the time to try reading about them all, let alone find the book we could use for information about them. There's nothing to examine about it unless we turn it on, and it seems to turn itself on when we pick it up, anyways. We have to use trial and error methods before we're caught.

We just plain don't know. So let's move it to a safe area.... Or, you can take it, and play trial and error with something that could kill you."

All I said was for you to give it back, I never shouted or threatened to hit you at all. You're confusing that with me only appearing to be threatening. If you're not going to comply because you're too stubborn to realize your fault, then so be it. You should know that if I put the bat down, that either one of you would steal it, or I would just pick it back up. Either way, I'd still get it back eventually, rendering the idea of dropping the bat to a pointless pursuit, and leaving your fears open to reality.
