1. Get the Forge you need for your mod
2. Download the Install version of Forge
EX: Forge Version: 9.11.1
Minecraft Version: 1.6.4
Downloads:
Changelog (Direct)
Installer (Adfly) (Direct) <-----
Universal (Adfly) (Direct)
Source (Adfly) (Direct)
Javadoc (Adfly) (Direct)
(It doesnt matter if you choose Adfly or not. Adfly gives you an ad)
3. Once downloaded, Double click on your Forge Installer. You should see "Install Client" "Install Server" and "Extract" Below that, you should see something like "C:/Users/Owners" This may be in a red box. If so, click on the box with " ... " on it, and locate your Minecraft. A more indeph video will tell you more how to do these steps.

Your mods
4. Once you have your mods downloaded, making sure its the right version, move them all into your Mods folder. If the mod requires you to put it somewhere else, put it in that mod. Most mods just requires you to be placed in your Mods folder. If you dont have a mods folder, make it yourself.
5. Test your game to see if everything works. If it doesnt, try to find out what went wrong. Some mods cant play with eachother, or some mods are outdated (Happened to me plenty of times when adding a new updated mod) Sometimes, the Browser set a .jar file to a .zip file.
6. To change a .zip file to a .jar file, simply open that zip file, go to "File" at the top left, Click on "Save Archive to..." and save the Archive to [space].jar.
Exp: GuiAPI-0.15.7-1.6.2.jar (Is a .zip file) GuiAPI-0.15.7-1.6.2[space].jar
(This happened to me just recently, and I had problems with the mod because of it)
Hopefully this helps, if not... I'll try to outsource the problem
