☆Guns of Gensokyo☆

Gensokyo has quickly evolved on a technological front ever since the Kappa were hired to tech up the Human Village, now known as Humanity City:


And a new Armada, Gensokyo Galactic Defense Force (GGDF) is rising to tackle the burdens of the Galaxy, to protect it from incidents wherever they may be! These brave men and women (Mostly Women) make up several groups of the Armada. These are the Kappa Engineer Corps, the Makai Guard, the Scarlet Sector, The Subterranean Division, Mist Force and the Elite Mech pilot squadron, Fantasy Brigade.

On this day...A young(ish! I'm Eighteeeen...!) boy, Alex Margatroid, son of Alice Margatroid, Commanding Officer of the Makai Guard, is ambitiously eyeing down a Mech on board GGDF's main Space Station, Genso-One, ready to tackle the responsibility of piloting one! ... If only his Mother would actually let him, that is. ()

I am CP, Chaos, Or Rashinfiald, however you want to greet me. I am son of... Cirno, so I am frown upon for not being that... bright. Im really not sure how should I explain this... but I am smarter than my mother, and I do plan on showing the world that. This, however... cant be done in one day. Im... currently working on my first robot... And it wont boot.

Genso-One had been a little more busy than usual. It was no secret as to why, supposedly there was an experimental Mech that was to be tested soon. And what's more, the public was invited to watch. Those that couldn't attend personally could simply view the test on the monitors.

I'm Karasu Reiuji. My Mother is part of the Subterranean Division. While I've had some experience with Mechs, I do not have one to call my own... Despite this, my interest in them is apparent. And I have a habit of wandering into hangars so as to view them. Turns out i had wandered into the hangar of that new Mech that was going to be tested.

It looked surprisingly basic, for all of the hype that it had. But... The chance to pilot it would be amazing. While I was lost in that thought... Someone wanders over to me! "Good, you're here. Do you know how close it is to the test?! Get suited up and get in that Armored Core!", the woman states to me, as she begins to push me along to the prep area. "W-... Wait a sec, I'm not actually...!"

"No time, kid!", she rather forcefully strips me of my clothes and then puts the suit onto me. I'm a bit taken aback by how suddenly it all happened, but I cooperated with her. They then started to move me into the Armored Core. Once I was safely seated, they began to move it to the test area.

"Alright, kid... It's real easy. You've done this a thousand times already. We're going to have you face off with a few MTs. Do you usual tricks, show off what the AC is capable of, and the test should wrap up nicely. Do a good job, and we'll get a lot of coverage for this project!"

Before I can fully process everything, I'm now in the testing area... Fortunately, I've seen my Mother pilot a Mech several times, so I begin to power it up. "Hmm... Looks like everything checks out.", I said. "Of course it does! Now, we're deploying the MTs. You know what to do."

With that, five live Muscle Tracers, a very basic form of Mech that are usually unmanned, are deployed into the testing arena. "Here goes nothing...", I begin to move the AC, using the Booster. I'm trying to keep an eye on my enemies as well as my energy levels. "Damn, it's draining fast...", I said in response to how quickly the energy was dropping. But thankfully I maneuver through the MTs fire and slice one down with the energy blade.

Boosting again to move my position out of the crossfire, I turn and open fire on another MT. It takes a few shots but it goes down. Two MTs are behind it, so I switch to the missile launcher. The FCS locks onto the two, and fires off a Missile for each. The MTs are being made short work of. With that, I look at the radar, an MT is behind me.

I begin to boost up into the air, and move back. Landing behind the MT, I slash it with the energy blade. The AC wasn't very fast nor powerful... But I at least knew how to handle it well. Of course. For everyone that couldn't make it to the test... The entire thing had been on the view monitors of Genso-One, and it was also broadcasted back on Earth! ()

I excitedly watch the test from the viewing platform of the hangar! I had not noticed the familiar pilot, I was carefully holding onto my little sister, holding her up so she could watch, too.

Mom! I really want to pilot one of those! ... Of course, she always was hesitant to let me go anywhere near mechs, she's quite...Protective. She means well, of course. ()

Utsuho was watching the test, smiling as she shakes her head as she had already noticed that her son was in the pilot seat, she was certain he'd do fine, so she wasn't worried about it. ()

Nitori opens a video call to Cirno and her son.
You two watching this? ()

"...Nitori? How did you... I thought you was in space!"

"Well... It's dangerous, son. I'm just concerned about your safety, you know." ()

"Eye was watching that! It was impressive!" ()

Finally, the communications of the AC are connected to the View Monitors as well as the Broadcast. Of course, everyone attending can hear what is being said, too. "Now, wasn't that something? Even though this AC is using parts we've scraped together, it is an exceptional Mech! Now, Pilot, do you have anything to add?" ()

About then, the cameras switch from an outside view, to an inside view of the cockpit of the AC. "For starters... I'm not the Pilot that you were expecting, and... This thing handles pretty rough." ()

"Wait... You're... Not the Pilot we were expecting?"

"Y-... You guys already found a replacement?! I didn't think I was that late!" ()

"Nitori-Sama, how is space?"

I know...But Reimu's mom let her pilot a mech, look where she is now! ()

Nitori blankly stares at CP.
... I'm calling from a video screen, you know? ()
Nitori clears her throat.
Keep it between the three of us, but...There's a second prototype hidden away. We're pretty certain these are the future of mechs. ()

Sub-Admiral Ran is watching the event in Yukari's place. Honestly...We need to stop the test. Someone get it shut down! ()

"But... I thought... Skype, and... ...Prototype? One of those Mech thingies?"

"Well... I suppose we can at least look around for a Mech." ()

"Really now? But the ones we have are pretty good, you know!" ()

"How many times have you piloted a Mech?" ()

"This uh... This would be the first time!" ()

"But... You handled it so naturally! That's just amazing! The AC isn't even that well equipped!" ()

"Ma'am, we're receiving orders to stop the Test." ()

"Everything is going according to plan. Granted, it's not the Pilot we were expecting, but... Let's continue with the Test." ()

I smile excitedly! Yes! That'll be awesome! I uh...Guess I'll have to train to pilot them first. But I can do that! I bet Reimu would teach me~... ()

Yeah, but we've been studying a captured Lunarian mech. Their tech is pretty advanced. Yes Rashin, they're mechs. ()

Ran watches in horror. ()

"....Eh, I dont like Mechs much, they are boring and clunky. Also, I cant drive them"

Alice only smiles. "Well Reimu is one of the best Pilots, learning from her would definitely be the safest thing." ()

"Lunarians... That'd explain it, then!" ()

"This is the greatest scoop we could ask for! The first Tengu Mech performing exceedingly well! Alright, send in the next wave of MTs!" ()

Four MTs of the Ogre Variety are deployed into the Arena! ()

Yay! That'll be great! ()

Nitori spits out coffee as she takes a sip.
What did you say about mechs?! ()

Why isn't the test stopping?! That child could be seriously harmed! ()

"Mechs are BOOORRRINNNGGG! I like Power Armor and Robots more!"

Alice smiles, shaking her head again. "Honestly... Well, I suppose it can't do any harm with the right precautions." ()

"Oi, son... Mechs are important!" ()

These MTs are noticeably faster, though not by much. They only have basic weaponry, though. Just battle rifles. Despite the low quality of the parts, I'm able to out maneuver the enemy fire and slowly deal with them. They take a few more shots to destroy... But they go down all the same. ()

"This is amazing! Momiji, how many viewers do we have right now?!" ()

"O-... Our highest point, Aya!" ()

I'm gonna be the best pilot, Mom! I promise! ()

If I could reach through this screen, I would slap you! ...Probably! ()

Ran heads to the MT control room, frantically! ()

"...Knowing you, you have the technolog..."

"Alright son, I look forward to it!" ()

"He's never been interested in Mechs for some reason..." ()

"Alright, this is the last test!" Another three MTs are deployed! These MTs are much faster and noticeably larger, even than the AC I'm currently piloting! But... They have a few weaknesses.

For the Laser Rifle, I can dodge that easily enough, for the chain guns... They have to kneel to use them. I fully take advantage of that fact. The only other thing I have to worry about is a Missile Launcher, but I can move out of the way of that easily enough.

The AC takes a few scratches after all of the testing, but it ends in a complete victory! "That concludes the test! One more thing, what is your name?" ()

"I'm Karasu Reiuji." ()

I carefully put Okami down, smiling. ()

Erm...Anyhow...I should probably go now, I've gotta check up on the mech that just finished testing. ()

Ran forces open the door! What's going on in here?! I told you to stop before someone gets hurt! ()

"Oh Nitori... Im having problems with my Robot, it wont boot up"

"It looks like the test has finished... Karasu Reiuji. Isn't that your friend, Alex?" ()

"Well eye guess the Robot can be useful... Think you can help him, Nitori?" ()

"As if I would stop the test! With all of the publicity this has gotten, not only will this AC get all the funding it needs... But we have a famous Pilot now! We're set!" ()

Oh yeah, he is! He's a pilot now? ()

Oh yeah, I can help out. ()

He could have been killed! Not to mention this whole situation was horribly unplanned! What will Miss Yukari say?! ()

"Thank you! I will have my robot shipped to you shortly!"

"Well it looks like he accidentally swapped places with the intended Pilot... But Aya's just milking it for all it's worth." ()

"Son, it would be faster if we went to her, you know." ()

"What Yukari would say? Hmmm..." Aya ponders for a moment. "'Don't bother me right now. I'm trying to sleep.'?" (... )

Momiji is covering her mouth, desperately holding back a laugh. ()
