-One week after the battle between Penny and Lumin-
......
The students of beacon had been gathered in the amphitheater for an important announcement from the Headmaster himself. The room was filled with the deafening sounds of chatter amongst the student body as they all gossiped and rumored as to what exactly this announcement could be about. Most of them were already correct in their suspicions, but there were several rumors going around.
"(This is definitely about the Vytal Festival! I bet they've already decided who's going to be representing Beacon!)"
"(This is probably because of the crime wave that's been going around in Vale...If any Beacon students got in hot water we'd all look bad.)"
"(Maybe we're getting special classes since it's summer!)"
"(No, this can only be about the strange explosions...There was definitely a terrorist assault on Beacon, right?)"
"(Is this about Nora breaking the Cafeteria ovens again?)"
Regardless of the myriad suspicions...The Headmaster stepped up to the stage after saying something to Glynda Goodwitch. His words to her were inaudible to the gathered crowd under the sea of whispers, but finally he walked up to the podium in the center of the stage and cleared his throat.
"That's enough students. May I ask for your full attention please."
He spoke calmly, his voice commanding but reassuring. The audience gathered here fell silent as he spoke, and with his words now more intelligible, he continued speaking.
"I'm sure you're all aware of the strange explosions on the school grounds late last week. I don't believe a living soul in all of Beacon could have possibly missed that event, and given how late at night it was I'm also sure many of you were rather rudely awoken by it. Many of you are alarmed I'm certain, it's understandable after all. Such an occurrence outside of designated areas of the school is unheard of in the many years we've led huntsmen and huntresses in their training. But we want to assure all of you that whatever caused this event will NOT happen again under my watch."
For only a passing moment it almost seemed as if Ozpin's eyes locked onto none other than Team JADE as he uttered those last words...Although to most of the students this observation would have been impossible. After all he was looking all around the room, he wouldn't stop on anyone in particular! He let those words sink in for a moment before continuing to speak.
"We've come to a conclusion that took days of deliberation and careful consideration among myself and our dedicated teaching staff. We cannot in good conscience allow what occurred to remain an unknown event, for if we don't give it our full attention then we are displaying a lack of dedication to the safety and betterment of Beacon's fine students. - Such an act of incompetence is something I CANNOT possibly allow, neither on my own part, nor the part of our staff. With that in mind...We've chosen to begin a deeper investigation into the incident and as a result, we will be temporarily postponing all classes for the next week. As for the students, all of you will be relocated to apartments in Vale while we conduct this investigation - All expenses paid by Beacon of course. Consider this temporary housing another measure of safety. Miss Snapdragon and Mister Vanta have bravely volunteered to act as security for this temporary housing arrangement so as to ensure no harm will come to any of you."
The students all began to chatter among one another yet again, that deafening roar returning as they whispered to each other. It was a lot to take in, and many of them had questions about all of this. After a moment of continued chatter, Ozpin raised a hand, motioning for everyone to settle down. It took a moment longer than the first time, but the roar once more fell into silence. Satisfied that they could hear him, the headmaster spoke up again.
"Of course, don't take this as an opportunity to fall behind on your learning! Beacon's teachers will be coming by each day with homework assignments while you are all away from school grounds, and you'll be expected to complete each one as they come to you! Third and Fourth year students will of course still be expected to continue their regular field training. Outside of these assignments however...You'll all be free to use your given time for other opportunities. - Provided you check in with our security of course. Think of it as a vacation! And when you return to these hallowed halls, I hope you'll be able to do so with your minds and bodies refreshed and prepared to reach new heights."
Ozpin sighed, smiling as he closed his eyes. He lowered his head for only a moment before raising it up again, he looked back out at the crowd...And spoke up as he stared at one student in particular.
"And yes Miss Valkyrie. - You are still banned from using ovens without supervision, even if you're not on school grounds."
Beacon's bell tower rang out clearly across the entire campus to signal the end of the announcement. Ozpin left the stage after giving a single authoritative wave to his students, and with that the large crowd gathered began to disperse slowly, the lot of them heading off to make preparations for being moved off-campus...
A few hours later...
Alba relaxed outside the amphitheater, doing a few stretches as he carried his usual grin on his face. It seems he was taking the news pretty well, all things considered. But seeing as how he and the rest of JADE knew the truth behind that "Mysterious attack..." He wasn't particularly concerned.
"Relocation huh? Looks like I'm gonna get a chance to really kick back for a few days! I bet those Boss Dweebs are gonna be so confused they won't be able to try us again for a while. And when it's summer naturally you think of sand, sun, and water! Uahaha! My aquatic training begins for real now!"
... Alba was absolutely intent on slacking off when it came to studies and focusing all in on having fun, that much was immediately obvious to anyone hearing him talk. Still...He wasn't so tactless as to ignore Penny after that battle she had. Even if it wasn't bothering her, it was probably still fresh on her mind.
"Uh, well...And of course we can take some time to investigate more too, I guess."
The arcana smiled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head as he laughed it off. Keeping everyone else's spirits up was a priority of his no matter the situation! He rubbed his chin for a moment, looking around as he thought things over...He finally spoke up, breaking his own silence.
"What about everyone else? What are you all planning to do while we're away from Beacon? There's nothing we can really do about our kidnappers until we get back, so we might as well enjoy it, right? But...What would be best...Hmm...It's gotta be something exciting!"
Alba pointed at Evelyn dramatically, as if counting that as something she needed...Yeah, she was a thrill seeker, she always chose to do something reckless, in that regard she and Alba really were like two peas in a pod. But what about the rest of Team JADE...? The arcana snapped his fingers, pointing at Jack.
"It's gotta be HARDCORE TRAINING!"
Naturally. Jack was always worried about improving her physical capabilities, whether that was her own body, or her semblance. Anything that could push her to the edge of physical stimulation was something she seemed to always seek out. But then that just left one other person...
"And above all, it's gotta be FUN!"
Penny wasn't particularly hard to please...As long as she could have fun with the people she cared about, the arcana knew she would enjoy whatever it was they came up with. But these were all things that had to be solved through a single solution...Was there really something that would all four of them would enjoy...? Alba tapped his foot impatiently as he held his head low, his eyes shut in deep concentration.
"A puzzle huh...This is like one of those riddles you'd get from a lion in the desert..."
As if the divine themselves chose to answer the "great riddle" he was faced with, a single gust of wind suddenly blew a paper sheet right into Alba's unsuspecting face, causing him to flail wildly as he worked to remove it.
"UGYA-?!"
It took...An embarrassing amount of effort for him to remove the paper, but once he did, he was able to get a good look at what was on it...Suddenly his flustered expression changed to a devious grin...
"I know EXACTLY what we can do!"
