    Like a Dragon [Mistral/Solo] Empty Like a Dragon [Mistral/Solo]

Time Frame: During Rumia and Tomina's Date

In Mistral, crime was common. To such a degree that organized crime was a normal part of life -- if you were in Mistral, you would inevitably come to terms with the Yakuza at one point or another. Yakuza, like many others, have their own culture and hierarchy. Or a food chain. The higher up on the food chain you are, the more respect your presence alone commands.

The highest on the food chain is a Dragon. Very few Yakuza are ever selected as such. The ones that are, they're almost treated as if they're a Force of Nature. Of course... One does not have to be a Yakuza in order to be like a Dragon.

"Just have to finish up here and be back home before they're done."

Atsuko muttered to herself. She always made a habit of keeping tabs on what the Yakuza in Mistral were up to. The Akuma were the ones that typically made the most moves and the most waves. Unsurprisingly, that was what information she had gotten. Right now a deal for some Dust was going down. A lot of lien and Dust was going to be changing hands, and that presented an opportunity. Very few in Mistral would be crazy enough to do such a thing, though.

To interrupt a deal like that with the Akuma and steal from them. Atsuko was doing that, and doing it alone. Right now she was scoping the place out, making sure that both parties would be arriving with the loot she was interested in. It didn't take too long for her to spot the member of each group holding a briefcase of goods.

That was when she decided to walk onto the scene. It didn't take long for the thugs to spot her.

"Hey! Who the hell are you?!", one of them questioned angrily. "Get the hell out of here, if you know what's good for you!", he added.

Atsuko finished adjusting her gloves, and came to a stop in front of the gathering. She looks them over. Each one seemed like they weren't expecting this kind of intrusion -- which made perfect sense. They preferred this kind of thing being done quiet and in the shadows.

"I'll be taking the Lien and the Dust.", Atsuko declared flatly; "You can give it to me, or I can take it from you."

The thugs started looking amongst themselves, before various chuckles resounded through the group. "Yeah? I think I'd like to see that, bitch!"

The cocky one strides in first. Just as the distance closes between them...

Atsuko lunges forward with surprising speed, striking his jaw with her palm thrusting upwards. This sends the man careening into the air, where he's then struck in the torso by both of her fists, propelling him back at the feet of the group he came from.

The gloves and the suit she wore sheen with an unnatural brightness briefly. She had just used her Aura to manipulate the clothes she was wearing, strengthening them considerably to function like armor -- and to make her attacks hit harder than usual. Even with Aura factored in. This was how Atsuko fought, with a Prodigal-level of talent when it came to utilizing her Aura.

It wasn't a Semblance. Though with the way that she used it, you would be forgiven for thinking so. The rest of the goons look at their now unconscious ally, flinch, and quickly turn their gaze back to Atsuko. By the time they've done that, she's already closed in and struck another one across the face, which carried enough force to send him spinning before falling onto the ground.

She straightens out, and that's when the rest make their move. One tries to blindside her, and she casually leans out of the way of his punch, she promptly elbows him in the chest, knocking the wind out of him and leaving him clutching it in pain.

Two more try to rush her from the sides. She decides to take advantage of this by grabbing the arm of the one to her left, and then pulling him to the right, which causes him to collide with his friend's fist. As the confusion sets in, she steps over and punches the one still standing. When he's hit the ground, she stomps him out.

Atsuko's fighting style is best described as swift and brutal. Finally, one of them roars and charges at her with a large axe in hand. As he swings it downward, Atsuko crosses her arms in a guard. Before the blade makes impact, she shifts her footwork and pushes forward suddenly. Her aura briefly flaring again. The blade shatters from this, and the hilt is flung from his hands.

She then swings her arms forward in a pincer motion, delivering a chop to both sides of his head, leaving him disoriented. She then straightens out, and kicks him in the gut, sending him crashing to the ground.

Atsuko then turns her attention, approaching one of the thugs now cowering on the ground.

"Y-... You...!", he sputters. Atsuko continues to approach, and his shaking intensifies. "You'll regret this!"

Atsuko is now standing over him. She begins to reach down, and he flinches, turning away and moving an arm defensively to protect himself. But instead she reaches over him and picks up one of the briefcases.

She steps away from him, now making her way over to the other one. Almost instantly he lets out a breath of relief -- though his downcast gaze is enough to imply all the shame and humiliation he's feeling right now.

With the two suitcases in hand...

Atsuko started to leave the scene just as suddenly as she had appeared. The Yakuza just had a run-in with the Dragon of Mistral.

She had become that by clawing her way to the top of the food chain, and taking power for herself. At least, that was what all the rumors said. Plenty of the Yakuza would be happy to pay her back for all the grief she's given them. But at the same time, no one wants to be the target of a full campaign from her either. Right now her strikes were random, against no particular target. Just a 'wrong place, wrong time' sort of deal.

    Crossing a Dragon was unwise.

That showed in how even as she was walking through the streets with two briefcases in hand, people would get out of her way. She had a reputation. It was how she was able to get information on deals like that. Sometimes it was from third parties that wanted to arrange something inconvenient for their enemies. Sometimes it was just because they were genuinely telling her what they heard.

It didn't matter much in the end. Finally, she comes to a modest home and enters, setting the two briefcases on the table. She then takes a seat, and sets to polishing her sword. She didn't have to use it, but she still took the time to maintain it. It was a gift from someone close to her, after all. After being satisfied with that, she sets the sword aside, and soon after, Rumia and Tomina enter...

    "Welcome back, you two."

The rest of the story... Well... See "Tomina Rumia Date".

But this was the truth behind the Dragon of Mistral. She didn't care so much about power for herself. She cared about giving a good life to Rumia and Tomina, making sure they were well cared for. She would do anything to make that happen.

It didn't matter what she had to fight in order to make that happen. She became a Dragon out of necessity; that part of the rumors was true. She clawed her way to the top of the food chain.
Now that she was there, she was going to reap the benefits that came from it.
