The quiet hum of machinery filled various rooms of this facility -- but it was especially apparent in the "hangar", as they were currently running diagnostics on a routine fitting of gear.
"Systems nominal... No errors.", a man in a uniform listed off what he was reading from the terminal. "Fuel is at full capacity. You should be able to finish the entire patrol tonight.", he then finishes.
The comparatively younger girl looks over at him. "Good. I'll make sure to wrap this one up quick too."
She said, certainly not lacking any tone of confidence in her voice. She did a few brief maneuverability tests, and then seemed satisfied with the results. As she braces to leave, a familiar voice calls out.
"Remember. You're the only one that can stop them. You hold the key to our survival -- and to the survival of all worlds." -- the voice belonged to Blacknore. He had arranged a great many resources to make this happen, and he was intent on making her more and more powerful.
He had seen firsthand what those things could do, and he wasn't about to sit back and let it happen again. He wanted to take the fight to them, and this girl was the means to make that happen. "We'll be eagerly awaiting your success."
The girl with red hair gives a nod, and then turns her focus to the hangar doors. Caution lights begin to flash, along with the klaxons warning everyone present that the launch procedure was about to begin.
With a flourish of her arm and a flash of light, a Keyblade appears.

She grins, tightly grasping the hilt of Daylight in her hand. "Preparations complete. Mission start!"
The doors slid open, and she rockets out of the hangar, courtesy of the Vanguard Overed Boost -- or the 'VOB'.
The girl with red hair and cloak speeds through the streets of San Fransokyo like there won't be another night for the city. Most people didn't have the reflex to cut the tight corners like she could. But she's gracefully sliding along her patrol route. The reason why is because there was a lot of ground to cover, and there was plenty of them to deal with.
Too many for Big Hero Six to deal with, that much was for sure. Right as she comes to her first stop, she smashes into a Large Body Heartless, sending it careening into the others, and with a turn she fires off magic into the lot of them, annihilating the group all at once.
She spins around and continues just as fast as before. Behind her, crystallized Lux speeds after her, resonating with the call of her power -- though it struggles to keep up with her. Vaneera continues to grin, already knowing what to do with this.
Each group of Heartless that she finds; she might not be able to eliminate all at once as smoothly as she did the first, but now she also doesn't need to perform as many attacks in the first place. The Crystallized Lux pierces through them as it tries to catch up to Vaneera, which only adds more to the spectacle.
Soon enough there's a trailblazing red blur racing through the city, followed by bright white glints filling up the streets. Eventually she suddenly shifts her momentum -- now soaring up the side of a building, and the white glints follow suit. As she makes it to the top, she shoots past the roof, and then she raises her Keyblade up high.
Then she comes flying down as though she were a comet, the mass of Heartless barely have time teo think about what came raining down on them. It wasn't just Vaneera. It was every piece of crystallized Lux she brought with her.
The light is so overwhelming that every last Heartless is destroyed, and then the light circles Vaneera, before it finally pierces into her body.
She grunts lightly, but takes it like a champ; each piece of Lux is absorbed into her body, and she takes a deep breath of relief. She checks her wrist-mounted device. No other sightings or activity of Heartless known... Good. A new record, then!
She smiles to herself, happy with what she accomplished.
Little did she know that someone was watching, and was a little less approving of what she saw.
The girl dressed in black approaches, crossing her arms.
"That was fast.
But, I have some questions for you..."
Vaneera turns to the girl with long black hair, raising an eyebrow.
